i) valuations in energy are at historical lows - driven by anti-energy sentiments, alarmist hysteria and foreign influences on Canadian infrastructure and investments

ii) Demand for oil is not declining - or slowing in growth - global demand for last 10 years has grown by 1.3MMBLS per year - up 10% in growth over the prior decade.

iii) Supply of oil is declining at an increasing rate - it has doubled from about 4% to about 8% - meaning the issue of supply vs demand will be exacerbated with time - we need to grow Canada's ability to supply ethical and environmentally responsible oil and gas (and LNG).

iv) we also need to lead the world in technological innovation - in terms of GHG emissions and carbon capture - we can do that - for greater impact than panicking over our 1.6% of global GHG (which we need to control - indeed).

v) there is no evidence that carbon taxes are having any impact on consumption (see charts on growth in gasoline sales for last 2 decades to see that) - so lets just accept that Carbon Taxes are political grandstanding - not really helping the planet.

As @CanoeFinancial observes - we have a change to lead the world - which we cannot do by collapsing our economy.

Let us get Canada moving again.
