So Biden was asked about slavery and racism, and among the garbled string of non sequiturs in his response, he argued that poor families just don't know how to raise their kids. How is his campaign spinning this combination of incoherence and offensive content?
It appears Biden's team is spinning by going on the attack against one of the few candidates of color in the race - calling him "mean." Well, I guess that's one strategy. But why are any journalists falling for it?
Seriously, read this transcript and tell me what on earth is going on. This is a total breakdown - an incomprehensible response shot through with casual racism...in response to a question about racism. slate.com/news-and-polit…
If the argument for Biden is "electability," how does anybody watch this and think "ah yes, that dude's electable!" There were several candidates on stage last night who were strong, eloquent, and coherent across a range of ideologies. Biden wasn't one of em.
I'm just baffled by the positive reviews of his performance by DC insiders. It's like we saw two totally different performances. Biden very well may win the nomination, & if he does I'll work hard to make him president. But he's one of the least electable candidates in the race.
