... which was to teach children that their home culture's vocabulary and grammar (eg double negatives) IS legit, then teach them "standard" English as a sort of second language. The same concept could be applied to, eg, white Appalachian children.

2. Biden's repeated conflation of income w/ race is an error similar to Sanders'. Both correctly recognize that race and income (sadly) are connected. But both inadvertently reinforce racism by not EXPRESSLY saying so EVERY TIME they address income inequality as a proxy for race.
