Sure. First, make sure she REALLY wants to pursue this business, because it’s sure not for the the wishy washy. And make sure she wants to do it for reasons other than being ‘famous.’ Take classes, audition, act where you are Get in stuff. Watch TV. See movies.
She needs to figure out what she wants to do. Tv/film? Broadway? Then at some point after some honest self evaluation, go for it! Move to la or nyc. Have unwavering belief in yourself, never miss an audition or an opportunity to impress someone and don’t take anything personal.
Find a great circle of friends that have your best interests in mind, learn what toxic people sound like and cut them out of your life, create a great living environment for yourself that makes you feel good when you get home from not feeling great about yourself,
(I suggest a great bathmat. One that makes you feel great when you step out of the shower and on to it when you are ready to take on your day.)
Take more classes. I suggest an audition class over acting class for beginners. Auditioning and acting are two different things.
A lot of people will say, well don’t you need to learn to act first. I say, you’ll NEVER get to act unless you learn how to get the job. And it not like you’re gonna get a GIANT part right off the bat. Learn to deliver a couple lines in an audition first. That will help a lot!
Take improv class. It’s helpful. U have to be able to adjust, adapt and overcome. In life and in this business. Improv helps you learn to think on your feet. Always be prepared. You never know when luck and opportunity will collide. You have to be ready and be ready to be GREAT
Don’t judge yourself by others standards. Don’t be intimidated by anyone. Not everyone is Meryl Streep over here right off the bat. If you have worked as hard as you can and prepare as well as you can, THAT will set you apart from others. Be the hardest working one.
Others are lazy and will stay out late and blow off auditions. NOT YOU. You will be there 10 min early and be ready to impress. No your lines, take direction, be polite, say thank you and leave knowing you probably didn’t get the part. But u also leave knowing you just impressed
a room full of people that will be casting other things down the road. You’re never JUST auditioning for the part you’re called in for. You’re auditioning for your career. Good luck. Maybe some of my other friends will weigh in. @TaranKillam is a great guy and will have thoughts.
