There wasn't any doubt on 17 Sep 1939 that Stalin invaded Poland as Hitler's partner, and there isn't any doubt today.

It's not merely neo-Soviet denialism to maintain the Soviet narrative that WWII didn't begin until Hitler invaded the USSR in 1941. Putin began this campaign when he followed in Stalin's footsteps by annexing Crimea by force.
Putin went from condemning Molotov-Ribbentrop as "immoral" to defending it as "a necessary evil" to in 2014 saying "so what" & his propaganda today calling it a brilliant strategy by Stalin. It's about Crimea, with the same denials of Ukrainian statehood as Poland in 1939.
Germany went through the painful process of admission & reconciliation with its dark past. The USSR never did. There was no Nuremberg for Communism, even when the USSR fell in 1991. Just 9 years later, Putin took over.
