/Okay peeps, want to formally float an idea. Should Democrats hold a weekly censure vote, perhaps each Thursday, on actions taken by the President and his cabinet which are clearly deserving of condemnation?
/Wimpy you say? Not sure. It is an official condemnation by the House of Representatives about the actions of a public official. Draws a good/bad, yes/no line. Forces R on the record. Creates a formal record of their malfeasance.
/What would we censure? How about the President lying about his affair with a porn star, and breaking campaign finance laws to cover it up? How about taking both foreign and domestic emoluments? Folks not showing up to testify incl the Attorney General? Lying to Congress?
/Feel like we have to create a clear, public conversation with the American people about the Trumpian corruption, malfeasance, disregard of laws and norms. And allows Congress to do something as Judiciary goes through its own process.
/Don't think this is toothless. Right now Corey L comes to Congress, treats it like a farce, mocks the chamber and nothing happens. Whether we censure him, hold him in contempt, whatever the action we have start doing something. What WH is doing is wrong - Congress must say so.
