In my years working on these issues, I can't recall a single person ever being able to explain how you can have democracy without being willing to incorporate Islamists. That's no surprise: It's, well, impossible

But I'm not an elected Democrat. And as someone who believes in ideology (in the non-pejorative sense) over party, I worry that the long-term costs of an impeachment effort that can't but fail in meeting its ostensible objective may be, well, costly

Another thing I struggle with is the fact that if impeachment is a constitutional option and if it isn't exercised now, then when would it ever be? (I doubt a president will ever shoot someone on 5th avenue). This is the "what the heck, just do it" argument

Trump deserves to be impeached but that doesn't mean he *should* be impeached. Maybe that's obvious but I think too many assume that if the former is true, then the latter must also be true

One issue is that impeachment was designed as a way for "statesmen," people who put the country first, to agree on removing uniquely terrible presidents
Impeachment can no longer be what it was intended (or hoped) in light of hyper-partisanship. Impeachment, perhaps for the rest of our lives, will be seen as a partisan cudgel to remove or delegitimize presidents from the other party. But, well, it *cannot* actually remove anyone

@ProvMagazine This has been one of the key questions and dilemmas of recent years, and I've heard it time and time again: as bad as dictators may be, at least they're good for Christians and other religious minorities. But are they really?
It's not necessarily a bad or silly argument. There's actually quite a bit in the political science literature that lends itself to arguments that democracy can only come after other things come first

In a world where a few own most of the wealth, some questions. Are these so called elite’s more intelligent, than everyday Americans? Many politician’s seem to amass massive wealth while in office.

Part 2:
At a time when we see a two tier justice system, there’s also a two tier wealth system. Many scream socialism, socialism. Do these individuals supporting socialism believe massive wealth will flow into their hands, through socialism?
Part3:
I’m sure there is an example of socialism, where the working people have become super wealthy over night. These politicians advocating socialism, none of them are wealthy, correct? Socialism is a thirst for power. That does not represent power to the people.
