The USA visit begins with a wide range of programmes in Houston. I would be interacting with top energy sector CEOs, various groups of Indians based there and top ranking leaders of USA. The programmes in the energetic city of Houston will surely add greater energy to our ties.

On Sunday, the 22nd at 10:15 AM local time there would be a large community programme in Houston. We are honoured that @POTUS @realDonaldTrump is gracing the programme with his presence. This gathering would be a new milestone in India-USA ties. #HowdyModi

Shared values, convergent interests and complementary strengths provide the strong foundations for a natural partnership between the world's oldest and largest democracies.

In New York City, a large part of the programmes will be at the @UN. Since its inception, India has been actively participating in various programmes and initiatives of the UN, reflecting our unwavering commitment to multilateralism. My address at the UNGA would be on the 27th.

Key events I would be attending at the @UN are the Climate Action Summit, an event on Universal Health Coverage, and opening plenary of the Bloomberg Global Business Forum. These forums will give opportunities to showcase India’s efforts to build peaceful and prosperous world.

This year the world is marking the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. At the @UN, India will host a programme to mark this special occasion. The event, which would be graced by world leaders, will showcase the rich thoughts of Gandhi Ji.

The USA visit will give me an excellent opportunity to interact with various global leaders. India will be hosting interactions with leaders of the Pacific Island States, and leaders of the CARICOM group on the margins of UNGA.
