Being a Congressmember is a pretty relentless gig. Each week brings hearings, briefings, meetings, interviews, community events, votes, debates, and travel. It brings opportunities to stand up for families. And these days, it brings quite a bit of Trump shenanigans as well. (2/9)
I do take time to be mom to my kids. But that's a pretty relentless gig too. Each week brings 6 loads of laundry, emptying backpacks, and the inevitable argument about teeth brushing. (3/9)
I love my work in Congress, and I love my three kids. But sometimes it feels like too much. Heck, sometimes it *is* too much.

Today is #CaliforniaSurfingDay. Surfing is our official state sport.
