Story of a friend:
Don't wanna name him as I respect his privacy.Just to introduce,he manages funds for offshore clients with a corpus in crores & got elite clients in Mumbai/Delhi. Last expiry cumulative of all accs he made 16.7 Cr!You can just imagine the corpus size with that.
Now for disbelievers, ignore as I care a fig if you don't believe on the figure.Continuing his incident, its wasn't the first time he minted so much & has survived several shockups in markets. Yesterday, cumulative he lost of his clients 37cr+!Scary isint it?
Honestly I suspect the figure is more & some values has been hidden. The point here is not to talk about why options are risky or why you shouldn't leverage but because of what happened with him next. Since he had particularly wiped of 50% of cap in some accs, client drama starts.
He receieved several calls which he tried to ignore. He was handling a folio of a big politician too who threatned him to payback principal amount within a week else face dire consequences(here ofcourse I don't mean legal, you are grown ups). The issue was politican had joined just
A week back & was excited post Thursday gains but equally devasted after yesterday's debacle. There was another diamond merchnt Surat who sent 1 of his dealers(who stayed in friend's town)to meet & force the friend to recover ASAP. Long story short, anxiety attack, now in hospital.
His family is concerned as he was under deep stress.I don't know the exact issue but seems serious.
Lesson:
All who aspire to be money managers in future,it looks v green from outside, but it comes with it's on perils.Everyone isn't meant for it.
