Andrew Fisher's resignation from Labour specifically condemns Seumas Milne's position on Syria

Seumas Milne has stayed publicly silent on Syria since joining the Labour leadership, but in a private conversations at an event in London, he expressed public support for the Russian military campaign in Syria.

The hostility, slander and aggression journalists have faced for trying to report fairly and accurately on the Labour leadership's position on Syria has been extreme, but Fisher's resignation letter exposes their lies and confirms their pro-Kremlin bias for what it is.
Seumas Milne is not the only senior Corbyn aide to back the Assad/Putin/Khameini axis in Syria, as Andrew Murray also explicitly called for the British government to assist the Assad regime's troops fighting against ISIS

In reality, the Assad regime was cutting deals with ISIS to focus their bombing campaign on civilians and hospitals in opposition held territory.

Incredible rap video released from inside Idlib by a rapper named Amir Almuarri. Condemns HTS/AQ, the regime, the Turkish invasion of Afrin and Russian bombardment. He even shows solidarity with Russian rappers arrested by Putin.
It might not seem like a big deal, but publicly speaking out against HTS in Idlib puts a target on this young man’s head. The fact that this video exists at all is an astonishing act of revolutionary defiance.

The Western bourgeois Communists promoting revolution at home and totalitarianism abroad only belie their immense privilege. They simply have no comprehension of the fact that to stand for liberalism and democracy in much of the world is revolutionary act.
They will never understand the suffering faced under dictatorship. They will never understand what it means to have no right to self-expression. They will never understand the bravery necessary to march through the streets when the price for that defiance is death and torture.
Liberal, democratic movements reached critical mass in Syria, Sudan, Venezuela and Hong Kong. In the face of bloodshed, brutality and repression, millions of people rose up to demand the same rights and freedoms we are privileged enough to have in developed Western nations.

All of the Syrian journalists I know can't return to Syria because they will be arrested and executed, Glenn Greenwald has repeatedly used his massive platform to dismiss their reporting in favour of war crimes denial in defence of the regime.
Greenwald is a liar, a coward and in recent years has become a significant disinformation node used to disseminate war crimes denial on behalf of the Assad regime and the Russian government. His work in Brazil doesn't make him any less a useful tool for mass murdering dictators.
Greenwald has never had to fear being executed for returning to his home country, but he is more than happy to mock, insult and dismiss the concerns of those who do face those threats. he wouldn't know actual resistance if it died on the door of his multi-million dollar mansion.

Russian warplanes are reportedly bombing #Idlib, a so-called "de-escalation zone" that is home to an estimated 2.9 million people, many of whom are living there because they were forcibly displaced from their homes elsewhere in Syria.

A few quick things to know... 1/
Russian/Syrian regime propaganda will claim that the bombing in #Idlib is only about terrorists. It will be framed as a (false) dichotomy: Either you support the bombing or you support terrorists. This is a wholly false and egregious campaign to whitewash a civilian massacre. 2/
Multiple international orgs have warned that an assault on #Idlib could result in the worst humanitarian crisis we have seen yet in Syria — catastrophic loss of life and massive #'s of both injured and displaced persons, which would exceed capacity to respond. 3/

Some notable patterns right now on @SecureDemocracy's Hamilton 68 dashboard, which tracks accounts linked to Russian influence operations.

Syria is still dominating, but the death of pro-Russia separatist leader Alexander Zacharchenko is very quickly taking over the charts. 1/
On the one hand, Zacharchenko is a trending topic overall so at least some of this is an artifact of a larger trend. But worth keeping in mind that much of the content pushed by these accounts is Russian propaganda.

Propaganda doesn't produce itself. 2/
This is just an observation, not a conclusion, but it seems like that was a damn quick turnaround - i.e., within 12-ish hours of news that Zacharchenko was dead, the propaganda lines were not only produced and distributed, but already completely dominating on social media. 3/
