1. A historical reminder. The "smoking gun" tape led to many GOPrs shifting to impeachment for Nixon. The key was him saying "um-huh" when it is suggested that they use CIA to shut down FBI investigation...

Trump and @RudyGiuliani had a some sort of desired outcome here for pressing Ukraine to criminally investigate Biden and his son.

What if indicted? Did they - with Barr - expect to...

And if they didn't intend to extradite, were they simply trying to manipulate the criminal system...

3...will do mortal damage to American democracy if tolerated. Not proceeding toward impeachment proceedings means tolerating all of these things, though it is possible to deceive oneself on that point. The political argument @NateSilver538 makes is about American voters.
