52% voted for #Brexit, but there is no feasible brexit they could all get behind

Which means remainers are expected to step in to support something they don't believe in

@DPJHodges 2) let's move the #Brexit window (the deal which a majority can get behind) all the way over to No deal

Yes there might be as much as 35% of the country behind this, a lot of MPs, certainly the ERG

But nowhere near a majority - and any deal must have a majority

So we move left

@DPJHodges 3) We move the #Brexit window towards May's deal, or even all the way towards a Norway/Soft Brexit deal...yes you start pulling in the moderate Brexit supporters and even some remainers who can live with this

But you are shedding Brexiters faster than you can take on Remainers

@DPJHodges 4) ironically by the time you get to a May deal you've lost all the hard line MPs in the ERG who actually wanted Brexit in the first place, and all the supporters they've whipped up

By the time you get to Norway you'll have lost most Brexiters

@DPJHodges 5) we probably end up at Norway + CU - a position that remainers can stomach but not get behind, a deal that actually achieves nothing & a position at least 60% of Brexiters hate

And the bizarre position of Remainer MPs having to defend a #Brexit position against Brexiter MPs

@DPJHodges 6) the referendum result *cannot* be respected, not in any meaningful way.

Because to respect it means picking 1 specific way to implement it

And this has to have majority support, especially as all brexits have an impact

@DPJHodges 7) there is no point implementing a Brexit that brexiters will hate & the ERG will attack as a "betrayal"

It would be a democratic abomination to impose a minority no deal on 60% of the country

People like @DPJHodges need to either name a Brexit that works or frankly grow up
