Seriously what a time to be alive
Not sure if this needs to be said but the existence of this text doesn't undermine the central claim made by the whistleblower--"POTUS is using the power of his office to solicit interference from a foreign country in the 2020 election." If anything, it corroborates it.
What it does is complicate this picture of Volker's role, making him a potential player in the mystery of how the "play ball" message was laid in front of the Ukrainians before the 7/25 call. But it's no shock that the whistleblower didn't know every cut and thrust in mid-July. 
That's deep in the weeds, though. We know the overall picture the whistleblower paints is credible because Zelensky does send an aide to meet Giuliani, and--on the call summary--he brings it up as something he did for Trump and responds directly to Giuliani's public comments.
