The notion that child climate activists are somehow enraging skeptics or driving them crazy is bubbled thinking at its worst. People are having fun *mocking* this clumsy effort to use children as props. If there's any anger, it's at the adults using these kids for political gain.
The big problem for the climate cult is that using children as sock puppets makes them look ridiculous, especially since the headline pronouncements of the alleged climate messiahs are so absurd. That's a really bad look for a political movement that claims a monopoly on science.
The political actors behind the climate cult think children are the ultimate weapon of emotional manipulation, irresistible spokespeople who cannot be argued with rationally or engaged at an emotional level. They're supposed to be the ultimate populist artillery.
Because they're children, their motives are presumed innocent and pure, which insulates them from charges of hypocrisy or insincerity - the most potent attacks in modern political culture. Their errors and falsehoods are excused as innocent mistakes because They Care So Much.
That's how it works on paper, but in practice the track record of politically manipulating the American public with children is a bit mixed. The early rush of glowing media coverage fades rather swiftly. It's happened again and again with pushes for gun control.
This might be a consequence of how quickly the news cycle turns over now. It's very difficult to find reasons to keep shoving child props in the faces of the media audience. They're kids, so naturally they lack the resumes and achievements that would justify constant coverage.
The Left and its media try to keep pushing the child props anyway, and they swiftly become annoying, acquire unpleasant partisan political links, or use their artificial fame to say things that alienate those who once gave them vast credit for earnest innocence.
The other problem is that much of the public has grown painfully aware of how fast the news cycle moves, and they appear to be developing a certain resistance to getting stampeded. They ask follow-up questions, and those who use children as props are very bad at answering them.
The climate cult doesn't want to admit it, but the collective weight of their failed doomsday prophecies is really hurting them with the public. It isn't said out loud very often, at least not by anyone media wants to cover, but quiet skepticism is growing stronger and deeper.
It's not a HUGE problem for climate alarmists yet, because they still have tremendous political and media power, and a total lock on the education system, but the kids they're indoctrinating today are the children of people who were told the world would end by 2010 at the latest.
The backlash the climate cult didn't anticipate is that hiding behind children is waking parents up to how ruthlessly their kids have been used. They remember the busted doomsday prophecies they were fed, and what their kids are regurgitating is even more discordant with reality.
It's appropriate and necessary to mock the people manufacturing child prophets to force a weird political religion on the world. The skeptics aren't overwhelmed or discombobulated in the least. We EXPECTED them to do this. It's predictable desperation. /end
