Jewish New Year begins on Sunday night. One tradition is eating many fruits you wouldn’t ordinarily. I think we’re ready! 🍇 🍈 🍉🍑🍏🍎
Preparations continue... these are challot (sweet bread) which is traditionally round on Rosh Hashanah to symbolise the circularity of the year
And these are the ridiculously amazing novelty ones which @jrwagz and my daughter baked today. They have a space in the middle where the dipping honey goes (for a sweet new year!)
@jrwagz And here is me at the Tesco fish counter getting in some salmon - we also eat fish on Rosh Hashanah though I have forgotten why. I think it may be a pun
@jrwagz You may have noticed this thread is heavy on the food. That's because it's a Jewish festival! 80% food, 20% religion
@jrwagz My four cheese veg bake in the oven! Feeding 20 tomorrow (and two dogs)
@jrwagz 😋
@jrwagz And with that I’m off! Happy new year to those who are celebrating, happy times for everyone anyway x 🍎 🍯 🐝 🎉
