In January this year, after three weeks of burnout-induced depression, I picked myself up and decided to get healthy. I probably weighed around 100 kgs (certainly more than 95 kgs)
Back then I set a totally theoretical target for myself: 75 kgs. I don't think I weighed under 80 kgs since I was in my 20s, so this was a totally theoretical target. Bur it was a target.
Given that when you get healthy you don't only lose fat but also gain muscle, my eventual weight graph looked like this (note that my weight actually goes up at certain points, even though I was in caloric deficit most days)
(I also lost a lot of weight in Jan/Feb but only started measuring in mid March.)
This morning I stepped on the scale: 74.8 kgs. So here, I did it. I'm at my lowest weight in probably two decades, and I feel great.
It's quite an accomplishment for someone who's past 40 to get into an even better shape than when he was in his 20s. Even more when you're recovering from PTSD and dodging death threats from dictators. And so I'm proud of myself and I thought I should tweet about it.
Now accepting your congratulations and also your questions lol
Btw, most expensive thing about this has been buying a new wardrobe. I started with a 40 waist. Then had to "downsize" to a 36 waist in May. Then 32 in August. Another downsize is coming it seems.
My real dream is to wear my taekwondo black belt again.
