NEW: Identity Evropa, Rebranded: Six Months Later

Our latest story uses public records and previously unreleased leaked chats to review the recent activity of the neo-nazi group now calling itself the 'American Identity Movement'.

The American Identity Movement is headquartered in Jefferson County, West Virginia (Harper's Ferry) in a home where its president, Patrick Casey, lives.

The group posted about putting up stickers in Harper's Ferry in a tweet that was later deleted:

In July members of the American Identity Movement did a banner drop during 'Frontier Day' celebrations in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

We obtained local police emails showing how law enforcement was monitoring their activity:

An email from the FBI's Denver Division shows federal law enforcement tracked Identity Evropa's rebrand into 'American Identity Movement' and considers them the same group.

Unicorn Riot obtained (and today, published) chat logs from a private channel created for members of Identity Evropa whose identities were exposed.

The 'Dox Support' group strategized about how to minimize the impacts of being outed online as a neo-nazi.

One member, John Lee Clemmer (aka 'humanbiodiversity' & often posting in 3rd person) described crafting plausible deniability to avoid being fired.

Clemmer, who funded racist banner drops, works for @IBMcloud, who did not return our request for comment.

@IBMcloud Another American Identity Movement member in the 'dox support' chat complained about attention from the media.

He said he filed police reports against a reporter contacting him to ask for comment:

Justin Wayne Peek (aka ‘american_patriot’), IE/AmIM’s activism director, also complained about himself and his wife Amber being exposed as racist organizers.

Peek once pleaded guilty in a case involving sexual battery charges.

NEW: A while back, I requested emails and funding agreements from UC Berkeley about its lucrative relationship with #Huawei.

For months, UC Berkeley officials ignored my public records request.

So we sued.

They found the records.

Huawei donated ~$1.5 million to fund various UC Berkeley research projects earlier this year.

All of the money was given *after* UC officials announced in January a "moratorium" on accepting Huawei's $$, in the wake of major federal criminal indictments.

First, NEO isn't the average PoW- or PoS-blockchain, NEO utilizes dBFT consensus which comes with several advantages but also some downsides. You can read about it here:

One significant downside to this model is that you have to trust most (66%) of the consensus nodes to not be bad players (its nearly the same for PoW and PoS, isn't it?)
