Bulk of the "Farsi" vocabulary in "Hindustani" / Urdu is actually arabic.

Not from Old Persian
The ruling elites of most Muslim kingdoms in India may have spoken Farsi. Not Arabic

But the vocabulary that was lent to the Indian Prakrits largely descended from an "Arabized" Farsi which bore little resemblance to the Old Persian of Avesta or even the Achaemenid period
Very common Hindustani words like -

Aadmi
Kabiliyat
Insaan
Aurat
Mohabbat

are of Arabic origin

Not Persian
The list goes on -

Intezaar, Khairiyat, Imtehaan, Vakil, Ghazal...

Even a word as prosaic as "Lekin" is of Arabic origin

None of these words have a history in Persian afaik predating the Muslim conquest of Iran
A few more -

jAhil, mulk, adalat, izzat..inkaar, iqraar...

All arabic
Having said that there are a few words that are likely Persian loan-words in Hindi that existed in Persian most likely even before Islam

E.g Zameen, Aasmaan

But my hunch is that the impact of Arabic loan-words through Persian is greater than the impact of pure Persian loanwords

H-Twitter spends so much time arguing on semantics of old texts

Endless debates on whether varNa is birth based or not

Discussing "shAstras" has its place

But shAstra talk is overdone when it is a prop to avoid confronting reality and the hard tradeoffs that modernity presents
Debating shAstras and commentaries etc can be fine in a theology / philosophy interest group

But it's problematic when public discourse itself revolves around 2000 year old texts
It's a bit like the movie Titanic where someone starts playing the violin and piano at a time when the ship is about to sink

Now the riposte can be - "Hey...we'd have had mass mobilization anyway with or without Gandhi"

Maybe. But it might have been a more violent form of mass mobilization (quite likely Communism or a milder variant of it)
Now many may think this is a data-free assertion

But no

1952 elections, the first universal elections held in India, gives us a clue

The "Gandhian" Congress party got 45% of the vote

Left parties of different hues got 23%!

Hindu Right < 5%
In the absence of Congress and Gandhian mass mobilization, that big bulk of the vote would have leaned Left.

Not to the Right

I still regard the peculiar nature of Gandhian mass mobilization as one key reason why India did not lean to the too far to the Left in early-mid 1900s

There are often attempts to peculiarize India's ills and attribute it to Indian "culture"(eg Caste)

But Pak shares those ills (despite a different culture)

During assessment of young kids (upto 7-8 years old) i instruct parents to participate in child's play in my play-room. Observation of child parent play is often all that you need for a diagnosis.
There is a strange observation -
I have been doing this since beginning of my practice in 1999.
Over years, child-parent play has deteriorated significantly.
This may be population in my clinic.
I see less and less parents being able to "play" with the child.
Participating and partnering the child in free play is one of the joys of parenthood.
And most young Indians seem to be blind and skill less in this area.
