If I never hear the term “ authentic” describe about a candidate.- it will be too soon.

Authentic is the reporters interjecting their own personal bias when they should NOT!

But his uncombed, unwashed look and unprepared answers were given a nice cute moniker.

But what’s realistic about going for something of importance and not showing effort?

That’s not realistic so it damn sure isn’t authentic.

I, nor you would even fanthom showing up to a job interview looking disheveled. And we would prepare.

Because that’s a real response- when something is consequential

Winging it- is not authentic. It’s the most privileged- crap I can think of.

At the time Bernie was being presented as “authentic”, he was:

Presenting plans that didn’t add up

Presenting a narrative about himself that contradicted his vote record and previous statements

But this was the most frequent description of him every shitty journo gave him

And that is why I am not ready to swoon over the occassional time the news media doesn’t suck and actually does their job
