@dlippman They're especially interested in light of Zelensky’s comment, in his July call with Trump, that Ukraine is almost ready to buy additional Javelins from the U.S. Trump responded by asking for “a favor”—that Zelensky investigate Ukraine’s involvement in 2016, with help from Barr.
@dlippman Democratic Senators sent a letter to Ukraine's then-top prosecutor Yuriy Lutsenko in May 2018 asking directly whether “any individual from the Trump administration" or anyone acting on its behalf encouraged Ukraine not to cooperate with Mueller. They never received a response.

The vacuum in U.S. Eurasia policy extends all the way to Moscow, where departing ambassador Jon Huntsman has yet to be replaced by Trump’s nominee John Sullivan. A confirmation hearing for Sullivan has not yet been scheduled by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
