It's the disaster in the Bahamas no one seems to be talking about - a massive oil spill caused by Hurricane Dorian. We saw aerials of the Equinor facility, but were not sure how close we could get. With the help of a local guide, we landed and made it into the spill zone. Part 1:
The oil company workers seemed shocked to see us. I did see clean up crews in the forest, but there is so much oil. Equinor later told me they have 250 responders from 9 countries cleaning the area. Part 2:

@wsvn @DCohenNEWS The big question - did any of the oil make it into the ocean? Bahamians gave me pictures like this from days after the Hurricane Dorian. They say it shows oil slicks just south of the Grand Bahama Equinor facility.
@wsvn @DCohenNEWS But Equinor insists it is not oil. They say it is likely seaweed or sea grass, and that no oil has been found in the ocean. Locals are skeptical and say they have not been getting accurate information about the spill.
@wsvn @DCohenNEWS If the oil did make it into the ocean, it's a big deal for the East Coast of the US. The Gulf Stream current could take the oil right along the US coast.
Here’s a look at some of the cleanup crews brought in by Equinor. They were using backhoes to remove oil saturated trees — and rakes to try and contain the oil. But it seems much of it may have already seeped into the ground. It’s a miles long area on Grand Bahama.
