@Lawrence You've just broadcast that Trump's interest in Trump Towers Istanbul "appears to have been enough" to motivate him to accommodate Erdogan in trying to shut down the prosecution of Reza Zarab. There's little reason to credit that report. +
First, Trump's economic interest in Trump Towers Istanbul is negligible. He's not an owner, and receives a revenue-dependent license fee. Revenues are down. It's chump change, even to a pauper like Trump. You should have said so.
Second, a much richer, and more immediate source of leverage over Trump is apparent: it's been widely reported that Flynn was offered $15mm, at 21 Club in NYC (w/ his son present), for achieving two things: extradition of Gulen, and quashing of the prosecution of Zarab.
We don't know if, while Flynn was NSA, Trump and Flynn had an arrangement wrt to the sharing of that $15mm. Following Flynn's ouster, s it reasonable to suppose that Trump continued to pursue the Turks' agenda ? Possibly with a view to keeping the whole $15mm for himself ?
There are multiple other corruption scenarios that might explain Trump's "green light," in particular the whole issue of his relationship w/ Putin. The LEAST likely corrupt motive, however, is the one you led with. Do better.
