These are the people fleeing, & in some cases, fighting the Turkish army: mothers, grandmothers, children. Erdogan & US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo call them terrorists. But they are brave & loyal friends to America—women & men who battled ISIS for us—now abandoned by Trump. 
These are the Kurds; fierce soldiers who “fought like fire” at the tip of the spear for the U.S. They love America. We owe them better than the fate forced on them by a corrupt president making deals with dictators to carve up Syria.
Now they are on the frontlines of a war they cannot win. Despite surprising the Turkish army by attacking on eight fronts along the NE border instead of one, they are overwhelmed by the air and firepower of opposition forces. There have already been civilian casualties.
These are our brothers and sisters in arms. It’s time to raise our voices, denounce this unnecessary tragedy, protest in the streets. (We’re becoming expert protesters under Trump.) Write to our senators and congress men and women. Flood them with calls. Demand aid and justice
for the Kurds. Sanctions on Turkey are not enough. Our friends on the ground need immediate help. Many civilians have fled to American bases. Our own US special forces are angry and upset at being told to stand down. Trump, out of self-interest and ignorance...
is not only doing great harm to the Kurds, Armenians & Yazidis in the region, he is also wasting the sacrifices of American soldiers & 11,000 Kurds who died liberating Syria from ISIS. Trump has set in motion a genocide that will destroy innocent life & free thousands of ISIS...
