Lots of Egyptians are understandably upset over a spate of unjustified suspensions of Egyptian activist & dissident accounts. FYI, @TwitterMENA has no control over reporting or suspensions, and these matters are not handled from the Dubai office.
It's true that @TwitterMENA should be aware of the issue and trying to resolve it with the appropriate teams, but it's simply not true that Twitter's MENA team has any hand in the suspensions.
The suspensions are not the result of any collusion or conspiracy on the part of Twitter. Rather, they're the result of state manipulation of a platform that mostly runs on algorithms. And yes, Twitter, should absolutely be doing (much) more to counter this manipulation.
