The Kurds, Turks, Arabs, and Persians are all native people of the Middle East. As a son of the Middle East, they are *all* my people and their blood is my blood. Kurdish blood is my blood. Turkish blood is my blood. Persian blood is my blood. And Arab blood is my blood.
(And this extends to all the native people of the MENA. I only mention those above because they're the ones that seem at each other's necks at this particular moment.)
We have a bitter dispute, but it's ultimately a family dispute. So long we think that we can achieve dignity by crushing that of our sisters and brothers, then dignity and peace will keep evading us.
It is not a dignified life to only feel safe because you're standing on someone's neck. Not least when that someone is your sister or brother. Either we're all free and safe, or none of us are free and safe.
I have no doubt that we'll get there. I don't know when we'll get there, but I have no doubt that we will.
