With the news of #JuliaHartleyBrewer appearing on @bbcquestiontime tonight, I’ve sent in my first-ever letter of complaint to the BBC. It’s brutal: (THREAD) #BoycottBBCQT

Dear BBC

I am disgusted that #JuliaHartleyBrewer is on @bbcquestiontime. I tune in to watch most weeks or catch up online, but I cannot watch tonight, out of principle.

My objection to Ms Hartley-Brewer isn’t for political reasons. She has a right to her opinion, and I respect that, even if I don’t agree with it. It’s not about Brexit either. #BoycottBBCQT

I’m complaining about #JuliaHartleyBrewer because she exposed the address of barrister @JolyonMaugham, who led the legal challenge to prosecute the government for proroguing Parliament, right at the time he was getting death threats and wearing a stab vest.

Had @JolyonMaugham been attacked or killed as a result, #JuliaHartleyBrewer would have been charged with inciting assault or murder. #BoycottBBCQT #StopTheCoup #SupremeCourtRuling #Prorogation

Secondary to this, #JuliaHartleyBrewer has led a torrent of abuse against teenage climate activist @GretaThunberg, verbally attacking her openly and dismissing her because of her age and her Asperger syndrome. This amounts to disability hate crime. #BoycottBBCQT #XR

In short, #JuliaHartleyBrewer has attacked one of the UK’s strongest defenders of Parliamentary democracy and led a character assassination on a disabled teenager who is trying to save our planet. #BoycottBBCQT #ExctinctionRebellion #StopTheCoup

As such, I refuse to watch @bbcquestiontime. The show now only exists to provide social media clickbait and a platform for the most extreme demagogues to spout their views which are not held by the majority of the British people. #BoycottBBCQT

In this climate of fear, the BBC needs to establish stricter controls. The BBC is a state broadcaster. It cannot become a weapon to incite hatred and violence, or become the British equivalent of Fox News. #BoycottBBCQT

As such, people who incite hatred in the way #JuliaHartleyBrewer does should not be given the chance to stir up even more hatred in this dangerous time. #BoycottBBCQT #StopTheCoup #ExctinctionRebellion @JolyonMaugham @GretaThunberg
