Context here: Andrew is referencing the half plus 7 rule-of-thumb for the minimum age of someone you can "reasonably" date at your current age.
Problem with his math here is that Dennis Quaid's new wife is 26.

The other issue here is that the rule is still kinda creepy and ineffective.
For example, at 33, under this rule, I could reasonably date someone who's 24.
I'm not saying that wouldn't work, but I am saying that I don't have a lot in common with 99.999% of 24 year-olds.
