No words can describe how I feel today. I have read the news about the bodies found in the back of a lorry with lots of horro. It brought back memories of my journey when we were stuck nearly to death in lorries and tankers and freezers with meat and chicken

The death of fellow humans whose bodies were found near Essex had me losing my mind. I was there before in 2015. I can fell what they have been through. I can hear them screaming to death because I was there. I can feel them clinging onto life but in-vain

The screams of these people still haunts me. I can never forget that moment when I touched death while being kept in the back of the freezer lorry. I can never forget the eyes of those who were with me on that tanker, no air, no light nothing but the smell of death

It’s impossible to forget it. I just realised how lucky I am to be alive. Watching the clip from my journey in 2015 made me feel very lucky. It’s difficult to describe death. My heart goes out to all of those who lost their lives, to their families and loved ones
Reliving death kills you in the heart and soul. I can’t stop thinking of their scrams, pleas for help - all went to deaf ears

It’s tragic. Heartbreaking
People don’t chose death willingly. People don’t put their lives in danger for no reason or purpose. As a father, mother, sister or brother you won’t do this unless you have no option. You have limited options and you pick your preferred one to remain alive
I can’t stop tinkling of the sea crossing, children smiles and cries... se where happy because they had no idea what’s was going on... others were crying coz they saw their parents crying... they were crying coz thr dinghy was leaking
The worst thing any human can bear is to watch his/her children die inform of them... I saw this, I saw people lose their children in front of them by bombing, shelling, beheading or drowning
I think of these people love ones, they devastation. The dreams that they hoped to fulfil together and how it all turned upside down. It turned into a nightmare and headline
Many of them will be remembered by their loved ones... other will read the headline then forget it after a while... these are humans with lives, dreams, hopes, fears and aspirations
I feel so powerless, so angry and so lost. I’m so tired of this and all I can do it tweet and bullshit
I feel very fortunate and lucky because I survived it. Others were less lucky and they lost their lives en route. You can read more about the journey and how life has treated me afterwards here: ahmadalrashid.net
Here I talk in more details about the horrendous journey
