*How to choose a tie*
Know the right tie for the right event: a thread
This is the right tie to start a new job, its old-fashioned pattern can give you the confidence to save a banking system by announcing very long loans, its mixed colours are perfect to pretend you will buy unlimited amount of bonds without actually doing it.
The soft colour and the rough texture prove that you are interested in different topics: unemployment in the Eurozone or the 5Y5Y inflation swap forward. Wear it when travelling in the countryside in the US.
The strange pattern of this tie is too strange. You can wear it, but only once, in November 2013 if you have nothing to say.
Same for this one: once if you want, but only once. Usually, the rule is you wear either a blue tie, if you feel in a columbidae mood or a purplish one if you feel like a vol de Gerfauts hors du charnier natal. Not a grey one.
Feel the Burgundy territory with this deep purple tie. Feel its soil, its cépage, taste its dryness. Do not taste it too much however, or you may end up by throwing rates into negative territory and destroy the tradition of never pre-committing by engaging into forward guidance.
This shiny tie is for parties – wear it if you want to be celebrated with confetti, it is also for revolutions – wear it if you want to end “dictatorship” of any kind.
The flowers on this tie are bucolic. It is the perfect accessory when someone offers you a tulip while kindly accusing you of destroying the Dutch economy and creating bubbles everything – it is better if this someone is the son of one of your predecessors.
This discreet, bitter-sweet fabric tie is perfect for a fresh start: wear it when visiting Portugal while committing once again that you will do everything. And wear it again when, back to work you announce to your staff and colleagues that four years later, it is all 2015 again.
The deep blueness of this tie is akin the Deep Blue computer: it may push you doing weird and unexpected stuff that will change everything: suddenly win chess game or unexpectedly save the Eurozone.
Only event we do not have a clear advice on is for your farewell party: the ultimate #DraghiTieGuesses
