It's a symptom of the hyper-profitization of news that is partly responsible for why we're in this situation in the first place. It's simply a matter of time until there's a chance to profit off of contrarian opinion and the mass of hate-clicks/hate-retweets. 2/
The sad truth is that this hunt for profit or attention could eventually turn into a counter-narrative that affects not just public perception but the media narrative overall. We've already seen this with Trump's candidacy, the 2016 Election, Mueller, literally everything. 3/
We keep hoping for these journalists to realize the dangers of this kind of headhunting, profit seeking, but it's not going to go away until the system changes or a new one replaces it. There's just no way it's not going to happen because the opportunity is too strong. 4/
