Today in Brexit - everybody's waiting but what for? An explainer: 1/ Johnson can get his Brexit deal thru Parliament but doesn't want to - because it will be amended to remove the possibility of No Deal in 2020 and risks having the Customs Union attached....

3/ Labour saying no election without a 3 month extension; EU saying no 3 month extension without election... but it's clear Johnson can't get an election anyway because the choice of date is borderline anti-democratic, esp in Scotland and Pennines (because of weather & daylight)
4/ Electorate sick of being in a drama they can't control and watching a Parliament that's stalled... this mood will only increase if we get a Feb/March election... Meanwhile...
5/ strategic positon for UK is: the nee Commission has Boris over a barrel - if we get a 3 month extension, then they will seriously prepare for No Deal. Macron view gaining ground - use Dec 2020 deadline to destroy Singapore-on-Thames idea ...
6/6 Labour should move a One-line election bill with votes at 16 and dare the Tories to vote against.
