THREAD: Why is Jesus Considered God/the Son of God.

That Jesus is God is central to the Christian dogma. That is the very reason the Gospel of John, Chapter 1 contains these words.
As Christian writers will attest to, the very purpose of the Gospel of John is to make its readers aware that Jesus is in fact God. The writer of John wants to deify Jesus.
Cole, Stephen J. (2013). Bible.org
Of course, liars like Stephen J. Cole insist that the Gospel of John in an eye-witness account, written by the Apostle John, whom Jesus loved.
Of course this claim is based on the so-called evidence of Christians who lived at least a few generations after Jesus died such as Irenaeus (written in AD 200), which was based on hearsay (Polycarb born in AD 60 and who claimed he was tutored by John). Not reliable at all.
Of course, as the early Church grew there were two schools of thought:
(1)Jesus was a man exalted to become the son of God (low Christology - Gospels of Mark, Matthew & Luke)
(2)Jesus was God & become man, did Gods will and went back to heaven (high Christology - Gospel of John)
As I mentioned early, for Christianity to grow as a religion it was essential to deify Jesus, and this happened in both the low and high Christologies based on the definition of deify.
Of course, the early Christian Church would have done so by borrowing from other cultures and traditions that had deified humans and exalted them as sons of gods, or gods. So let's look at some of these examples.
Of course the best examples would come from Greek and Roman traditions since both of these empires had an influence on the area.
The first is Erechtheus, the mthyological king of Athens, born from the sperm of the God Hephaestus who attempted to rape the goddess Athena.
Other great heroes, who did great deeds were also born from the canal relationships of the Greek and Roman gods with women. So Hercules, Bacchus, Perseus and Romulus and Remus (born of a Vestal Virgin) were all sons of gods.
Even the great King Alexander and the great teacher Plato were said to be born of virgins.
So clearly Virgin Birth is central to the deification of a man, like Jesus. Other cultures in the region also included fables of Virgin Birth.
Zoroaster, who lived in Ancient Iran (Persia) was born of a Virgin.
Mithra, also from the Persian region was also born of a virgin and his birth was witnessed by shepherds. Sounds familiar doesn't it?
There are even stories of Virgin Birth from China. Now the silk road is an ancient trading route that included routes into the Middle East. So these stories could have been known to some scholars.
Loa-tzu, who was worshipped as a god in China was born out of the side of a virgin mother.
The great Chinese sage, Yunwas born of a Virgin n and Confucius was said to be born of a virgin. Confucius also had twelve dedicated followers who were tasked with spreading his wise words after his death. This also sounds familiar doesn't it?
The Hindu god Krishna (and India was on the Silk Road) who was the Vishnu in human form was also born of a virgin.
Even Buddah (a Hindu sage, whose life and teachings gave rise to a new religion out of Hinduism just like the Jewish Rabbi Jesus, whose teachings gave rise to Christianity from Judaism) was born of a virgin, Mary and took the suffering of others on himself. Sounds familiar?
Of course, I haven't touched on Egypt yet.
Horus, the god of kings was conceived after his father, the god Osiris, was murdered and was born after Isis reassembled him and his golden phallus was used to conceive him.
Suprise, suprise that Horus also was viewed as a saviour and portrayed as being born in a manger when his birth was celebrated during the Winter Solstice.
The Egyptian god Thoth (the messenger of god tells the virgin Queen Mautmes that she will give birth to a divine son, who will be king.
So with countless stories form cultures that were around Palestine including the birth of the Roman god Mars born magically without a man it is clear how the early Church plagiarised stories to deify Jesus.
So it isn't surprising we have stories of Jesus (like the Babylonian god Tammuz), the only begotten son of Yaweh (like Tammuz the only begotten son of the god Ea) born of the virgin Mary (like Tammuz born of the virgin Isthar).
A plagiarised story.
The only fable that probably didn't influence the early Church is this one from the Aztecs. But the theme is the same - virgin birth used to deify. But this god sprang from his dead mother's womb fully formed. So it isn't surprising the Christ story doesn't have this theme.
So basically, Christianity is no different from the many other fables and myths.
Fantasy fiction used to control those who refuse to think critically and realise they've been duped.
