Now follows the least gripping vote on an election under the FTPA because we know most of Labour are sitting it out so unless there's a remarkable turnaround (like they all leap out of broom cupboards and ignore the whip) a loss for the Government is nailed on.
That was odd. The Government seem so sure they're going to lose that they almost didn't bother to say "aye" at all when the Speaker called out. John Bercow accepted a half-hearted whisper as "enough" backing for the vote to be held.
BBC commentators: "There isn't the usual level of excitement in the chamber." Hardly surprising since this vote is a fait accompli.
