I hate the way the way the fire brigade are made partly culpable in the #GrenfellTower fire. I lived 30 yards from that tower 3/4 of my life and saw fires before. Stay put was an effective way of keeping others safe as the buildings were so concrete fires would burn out...
I assume like everyone. The fire brigade believed that cladding added by these greedy cowboys and the higher-ups that approved it, would make the building safer as well as "prettier" for the lux apartments being built in the area. Not that it would turn it into a fireball.
Show me where any of those people told the fire brigade, that they had added a fire accelerator to the building to save money and the stay put advice that had been there 30+ years should change. Show me. You've done a report that cost how much to tell us what we already knew?
A faulty Fridge and cheap, non fire proof cladding. Tell me who is to blame and lock them up instead of stalling and giving them a chance to work out how they'll get out of it, by blaming the people that did the most good and did their job saving as many people as they could.
The fire Brigade is NOT to blame.
