I'm here at the Melody in Portland where Newsgrifter Andy Ngo is giving a speech. About a dozen counter protesters present, along with the dreggiest dregs of the Patriot Prayet set, led by Haley Adams.

Antifa starts a chant. "I fucked God, now he's gay!"

Andy Ngo watches from the background, wearing a nice blazer.

Another right wing newsgrifter has arrived. He is "just asking questions" about the Atomwaffen kill list created based on Andy Ngo's article.

If he was an actual journalist he would have watched the video version of the kill list.

Mack, from Patriot Prayer, approaches the crowd and makes a veiled threat "I recognize you" to an activist.

Antifa starts a chant of "OK boomer".

We are about six minutes out from the start of Andy's speech. The numbers have grown here slightly. Maybe fifteen to twenty antifascists here.

The sartorial choices of the people who show up at these events are always fascinating.

Militiamen in armor and cameras have shown up to stand guard.

They don't want to talk. Patches identify them as Washington 3%ers.

Antifa attempts to drown out a right wing livestreamer by loudly playing, and singing "Stacy's Mom".

It's like thirty-fucking-eight degrees and this maniac is wearing a t-shirt.

The entire crowd happily cleared out for an ambulance. When the police drive by, the response is less warm.

The right wing side of the demo has gathered together now. Both sides seem to be equally numbered. Only the militia and Proud Boys are wearing visible body armor though.

I'm not sure who this is, but he never moves anywhere without an entourage of 3 to 4 people wearing a mix of Proud Boy and Bikers for Trump colors.

Portland Andy has arrived and is getting in people's face with a camera. He appears to be drunk. Antifascists wall the people he is trying to trigger off and chant "Walk away".

I can confirm that Andy's breath reeks of what I would guess is bourbon.

More chants of "I fucked God, now he's dead."

The police have arrived and seem to be making a show of presence, if not force.

By the way, here is a masked Proud Boy. I would say roughly 30% of the right wing crowd is masked up tonight.

One right wing demonstrator, wearing body armor, accuses someome- it is not clear who- of enslaving two of the 3% militiamen.

Here we see a rousing game of "block the camera".

I'm hanging out on the right wing side of things now. We are about 11 minutes away from the speech ending.

People leaving the event is really the only part that worries me. We will see.

A few Antifascists approach the right wing side playing music. One Proud Boy flips me off.

A Proud Boy shoves an antifascist. This is what went down after. Cops are out of their vehicles. Everyone on edge.

And here is the man of the evening. His speech seems to be over.

Here is Andy. At the end here I get to ask him a question about the Atomwaffen video. His answer is interesting.

The antifascists have deblocked after rumors of a large police presence coming. Only a few people remain on that side.

Long video. At the start Haley and her friends say that these guys are heading off to confront Antifa. We follow them. They confront us at the end there.

Demonstrators on the right talk to their people on the inside. Haley and her folks have headed back over. Everyone preparing for the exodus. Probably the tensest part of the night.
