The cops keep talking to Joe Biggs in particular. Theoretically, this thing starts moving in about 20 minutes. About 150 here now.

Cops are enforcing a no weapons rule including flag polls. Thin polls such as fishing rods are fine, thick metal or wood cops want collapsed / put away.
For the record, I don’t see any weapons on this side but I will he wearing a ballistic helmet and rifle-rated vest throughout the day.

Proud Boys basically succeeded in their plan to be absurdly non-confrontational as they walked across a bridge into Portland, hung out for a bit, and came back.

Here's what happened when antifa sprayed silly string at a guy with a Pepe pin. He kept walking, saying nothing, but others followed. One threw an egg.
Escalated into a pro-Trump journalist getting hurt, skateboard and sticks etc as weapons. Cops didn't get involved.

So this was the most intense (and asthma-inducing) part of the day. As things settled down, the cops noticed someone they wanted to arrested from earlier. When they charged him, it turned into an about three-block chase involving several other #Antifa trying to protect him.

Today was an optics game, both sides trying to brand the other as violent and them as non-violent.
When antifa started to attack a construction worker, they were confronted and stopped by their own guys. "He's just a construction worker guys, chill the fuck out" one said.

Same thing occurred later with pedestrian couple that opposed antifa but wasn't with a group.

On the right, Joe Biggs got the attention of the FBI for his rhetoric ahead of today's event online. Today I spoke to him in person before everything began, here's what he described as his goals, including that "cooler heads prevail."

When the Proud Boys wanted to leave, police opened up an otherwise totally closed bridge to the group and allowed them to cross on the traffic lane.

Today, a handful of activists from the right-wing side of yesterday's #PortlandProtests showed up at @tedwheeler's house.
The group was led by @RealHaleyAdams1, a #MAGA activist who herself is running for mayor against Wheeler.

Mackenzie Lewis was arrested this week ahead of the rally on felony riot warrent.
At the rally today, he described that how he was arrested by U.S. Marshalls.
Apparently cops pretended they needed to meet him about a murder attempt by antifa against him, then arrested him.
