It's time once again for me to tweet thread about multi-cloud. Here we go...
Multi-cloud for individual workloads is a terrible best practice. Designing for it is generally accepting a drag on feature velocity in favor of buying optionality you likely won't exercise. Pick one cloud (I care not which) and go all in.
That's the platonic ideal.

Here in reality, multi-cloud is a thing. Acquisitions, workloads being better suited to other providers, line-of-business boundaries. It's okay.

BREAKING: @awscloud has taken pity on us, apparently--they've released Savings Plans, which sounds like something that has to do with retirement. Fortunately it does--specifically sunsetting Reserved Instances. A thread:

@jpaulreed My newsletter generation system is byzantine and bizarre.
@jpaulreed The Root Cause lies in a subsystem represented by the second API Gateway. It takes a parameter, but without one was erroring rather than using the current issue number.
