A very reasonable-sounding idea is “Privacy is just a feature”. So you can focus on other things now (especially: getting more users!) and add privacy later. But privacy is not a feature you can add — it is the *absence* of uncontrolled data leakage. Two implications:
1. You can’t add it without breaking existing systems and user behavior.
2. You can’t succeed by partially adding it. Eliminating some but not all uncontrolled data leakage usually leaves *enough* uncontrolled data leakage to prevent most use cases.
(By the way, Zcash t-addresses don’t have this problem, because we thought this through. People who opt in to using Zcash z-addresses today immediately get good-enough privacy, i.e. sufficiently low uncontrolled leakage of their data.)

Additionally, I am aware of numerous non-public stories of people being extorted (sextortion, death threats, etc.) by the attackers who take over their accounts this way. Even if your cybercoins and your bank account don't get compromised, you could be extorted. …

I think the Canadian election result is pretty interesting, and useful to think about in the context of the various American debates over the Electoral College / popular vote / US House
As you may know, Trudeau was reelected and fairly comfortably. But it appears the conservatives won the most votes, reversing what we've seen for the center-left in the United States (and the UK on Brexit, if it had been by constituency rather than popular vote)
So what happened? One big part is that conservatives are dominant--truly dominant--in Albert and Sask., where they win 2/3 of the vote and beat the Liberals by a huge margin.

Let's start with the simplest calculation of Pi - the ratio of circumference to diameter for round objects. wired.com/2014/03/calcul…
2/ If you want to do this calculation of Pi, just find a bunch of circular objects of different size. Use a string to wrap around and measure the circumference and then measure the diameter. Plot C vs. d - the slope is PI.
3/ But wait! #PiDay is only Pi in the USA where we use date format of month/day/year.

For everyone else, today is 14/3/2019 - which is NOT Pi. I suggest the other Pi day is July 22 (22/7/2019) since 22/7 is a great fractional representation of Pi. wired.com/2011/03/what-i…
