To all of you who are against Yang's version of UBI because as you say the "rich" get it or really anyone not at or below poverty level.

You are missing one of the main reasons it is being proposed in the first place.

Automation. Truck drivers make about 50k plus.

As well as other occupations that will be automated. Radiologists, retail workers, call center jobs, contract lawyers etc.

Everyone impacted will need extra resources coming in to prepare for their next steps.

It is not meant to live on or replace previous income but intended

to soften the landing. To give them some savings to retrain in a different career or start a business.

It is also intended to strengthen the economy of our dying small towns, to create jobs locally etc

means-testing will prevent all of this.

We have a proposal that can give the poor a foundational floor to stand on. To actually begin to pull themselves up and succeed knowing that floor will never collapse.

While also providing the resources to switch careers if needed.

And prevent the rest of the population that is straddling the poverty line from ever spiraling into poverty.

While creating jobs, destigmatizing govt assistance, providing security, easing mental distress and depression, keeping families together

allowing parents to spend more time with their kids, which in turn has the snowball effect of our children doing better in school and staying out of trouble that often leads to drug addiction or criminal activity.

I ask you to please stop for a moment and think deeply about what you are trying to prevent.

Is your hate for the rich...the 1% getting in the way of helping the 99%?
