Notable Corbyn is couching all this in terms of “taking control”.
The policy is interesting. But the terms in which Corbyn is selling it is more interesting still. Emphasis almost less on the retail offer, than as an example of their critique of Conservative political economy-in hoc to tech barons, free market unable to provide infrastructure..
Whatever you think about it- this is clearly going to be a party with a deep critique of how our economy works and a prescription to boot. The question for the Conservatives will be, what’s theirs? It used to be austerity- that has been abandoned. What next?
Beyond “Get Brexit Done” and some piecemeal spending, there doesn’t seem much there at the moment. The danger for the Conservatives is without a grand narrative, a set of answers to Corbyn’s questions, they get buffeted around and moved yet further from their comfort zone.
