@WSJ Ironically, this is exactly the kind of manipulation and gatekeeping that Google and its surrogates always claimed ISPs would engage in unless they were subject to heavy net neutrality regulation -- which never happened.
@WSJ But rather than use this behavior from Google as fodder to say they deserve the heavy-handed regulation they lobbied to impose on competitors, we should take a different lesson from the net neutrality wars, which were ultimately resolved with a *transparency rule*.
@WSJ Extend the transparency rule to the edge giants and they'll have to either change their behavior or justify it to consumers. Seems like the best way forward.
