I'm a FORMER Republican voter for 24 years, now a PROUD and DEFIANT #Resister. Coming from a sea of red in Southeast Missouri, right in the heart of the Bible Belt, I DEFINITELY stand out... But that isn't really anything new. Always have, for one reason or another.

I know what it's like to be born and raised to believe one party is better than another, to have pastors and preachers directing our votes from their pulpits, and to feel the need to "go along to get along" in an environment like that.

What I DON'T understand is how we can all continue to do this our entire lives, NEVER questioning anything we're told. Even the BIBLE says you should read and interpret for yourself, taking no other MAN'S word for what it says... To study and find the truth YOURSELF.

That SHOULD apply to ALL things in our lives, including politics. And don't @ me about mixing church and state, or some other BS like that. I'm NOT mixing them, just using one extreme to shine some light on another.

Somewhere along the lines we have all lost our way. We have shirked our duties as United States citizens. We no longer take any active interest in researching candidates to see who would be the best for us, we are too busy with our own daily lives and concerns to care...

Unless it's on TV, or social media like FaceBook, or Twitter...

Which is why I chose THIS as the spot for my attempt to get through to my family, my friends, and anyone else out there who is lost and confused by everything going on right now.

I won't try to convince you which candidate you SHOULD vote for; I'll leave that up to each of YOU. You've gotta get yourself involved somehow, and figure out which one YOU think would best represent the America we strive and struggle to BE.

The purpose of this is merely to get you to see who you SHOULDN'T vote for. And, hopefully, to help some out there understand the level of #corruption we are dealing with as a nation. This IS a national emergency. In order to fix it, we have ALL got to come together.

So, on to @realDonaldTrump, as he IS the head and heart of the problem. I CAN say that. I voted for him. Like an idiot, I allowed family and my pastor at the time to convince me that voting shouldn't be abut WHO you vote for, but about the PARTY PLATFORM they stood on.

What I knew then in my heart and DIDN'T listen to, and has been proven true, is that Trump doesn't stand on ANY platform but his own, and HIS platform is all about money and power - but only for himself. He doesn't care about this country, let alone any of US.

Has he done any good? A few things. Sure. But for every one good thing, there have been scores of bad... And they FAR outweigh the good. To the point of eliminating all good in my eyes entirely, at this point.

I mean, let's seriously look at some points and THEN you can decide for yourself.

-Nepotism is perfectly legal now as far as presidential appointments go, a ruling made JUST for Trump. As a result, his daughter and SIL, Rudy's son, Barr's son AND daughter... ALL work for him.

-Trump has to pay $2 million back to a veteran's charity that HE stole from and mismanaged... AND he made MASSIVE cuts to funding for our vets! He's also pardoning war criminals who DON'T espouse American values.

-Trump's lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, is under FEDERAL investigation for his part in the Ukraine energy projects. Remember, too, Rudy has made it ABUNDANTLY clear that he is TRUMP'S lawyer. Personally. Who's interests do YOU think he serves?

-Lev and Igor, who Trump said he didn't know (but photos and more prove otherwise) have been arrested for THEIR part in the Ukraine fiasco... They met with Trump at the WH and according to them were given a "secret mission," just like "James Bond." You can't make this shit up.

-Roger Stone was the SIXTH of Trump's associates to be convicted of or plead guilty to crimes, and he was found guilty on ALL SEVEN COUNTS.

-"I would like you to do us a favor, though..." We've ALL read it, and if you caught the 3rd day of hearings today, you've HEARD the call.

-Extorting the President of Ukraine, and withholding military aide for 55 days from one of our own allies, in an attempt to smear a political opponent in order to keep his spot on top collecting BANK.

-Trump's Chief of Staff confessed on national TV...

-Trump HIMSELF confessed REPEATEDLY on national TV, as well...

-Rudy Guiliani bragged on national TV about all HE was doing for Trump, even showing texts and messages on multiple devices to back him up.

-Do I really NEED to list ALL the witnesses that have testified so far that that is EXACTLY what his goal was???? Don't make me... I can, you know. Perhaps you should check out those witnesses' records for yourself.

-STILL won't release his tax returns. No other president has escaped that. Why should HE?

-Doesn't pay for his own rallies, no matter where they are held. Numerous cities are fighting for reimbursement.

-Refused to cut ties with his own Trump Organization, consistently profiting from BEING POTUS. Even Jimmy Carter sold his peanut farm when he became president, y'all.

-Intimidation and witness tampering in REAL TIME on Twitter, not once but MULTIPLE times, against several witnesses, so far.

-One word for you here : Kurds. Need I say more on that?

-Encouraging others in the Republican party to attempt to smear the good names and stellar service records of witnesses, regardless of their political affiliations or lack thereof.

What I'm trying to say, #Republicans, is...

We fucked up.

BADLY.

We put a narcicistic maniac in charge of our country, one who is only concerned with his OWN bottom line, and lining HIS pockets off of OUR backs. Power. Money. Those are the ONLY things Trump loves.

Not even his own WIFE and CHILDREN can truly be on his heart or mind at this point.

To continue to deny what is right in front of us is the most dangerous thing we can do. It's time to remove the blindfolds, blinders, and snap out of this spell we're under.

It's time to WAKE UP. We HAVE to do right by this nation of ours. So many have fought and died for it. For US. To make this country the place where ALL are welcome, ALL have a place, and ALL have a chance at realizing THEIR dreams.

Just remember, one day we will ALL have to answer to our children and grandchildren for why we stood by and did nothing while a trumped-up (pun TOTALLY intended!) mob boss who LOVES dictators destroyed our country.

Maybe.

Maybe not.
