As if 'normal' cars and SUVs aren't overkill enough...

@Tesla presents a riding fortress that looks even more militaristic and anti-social than a Hummer.

Bummer.

To me this looks like your AK47 for the road. Am I supposed to wish people "happy hunting"?

My 2cts.
It looks retro-cool and I guess I should like that it could replace fossil fuelled wartrucks.

And if I actually was in a war I think I would really like to use this thing.

But right now I'm only thinking of how you could keep such wartrucks off the road.
To me, driving a car around vulnerable road users is a priviledge that requires taking responsibility.

Why aren't airbags on the outside required? Or at least rounded surfaces that give way when hitting something?

Edgy surfaces from cold rolled steel are definitely not ok.
And what about this fortified position?

I think it should be mandatory that the driver is in full view of pedestrians and cyclists.

I think we should have similar rules for looking in as that we currently have for looking out.

If that makes the driver 'feel vulnerable': good!
I can understand the fun of playing "Rambo" or "Terminator". But then you should also get a longer jail sentence if someone gets hurt by your toy. And you should accept your car is not welcome in areas where children play or people want to chill out.
Bottom line: let's start banning wartrucks like this from our cities by applying rules that take pedestrians and other vulnerable road users into account.
Guess I'm not the only one disliking this thing.
