Corbyn explicitly says he as PM would remain neutral in referendum between a basically soft Brexit, and Remain:
"I will adopt a neutral stance so I can credibly carry out the result"...
Blimey - that was quite the news drop in the middle of #BBCQT by Mr Corbyn trying to channel Harold Wilson - who didn’t campaign in the 1975 EEC referendum, which is often described as neutrality, but in the end he did write this letter to every household backing Yes:
To be clear - Corbyn didn’t mention Wilson himself - that was an audience member - but my point was he was channelling a similar position as Wilson - although ultimately Wilson did as PM back EEC
Also significant statement that he wouldn’t back referendum in Scotland for first 2 years - the key date would seem to be 6 May 2021 Holyrood election. strategy seems - to pour £100bn of investment in, and try to prevent SNP majority in that election...

Brexit leak to FT: officials say NI protocol “major” challenge, ponders “not being able to deliver” it by next Dec

Cons claim is that they can negotiate a UK-EU Free Trade deal, ratify across multiple Parliaments and implement too incl complex NI checks/rebates within 11 months
In a similar vein though, Labour says it can do a new negotiation of the withdrawal deal/ future relationship, by March, and then simultaneously legislate a Withdrawal and Referendum Act, for a new plebiscite by June, which can be immediately implemented...
Replies pointing out that the very tight Labour timetable possible if staying in single Market and Customs Union - perhaps - but Labour hasn’t been clear about this being their precise option.

Either way main parties 2020 Brexit calendars “done” or “sorted” looking optimistic

Not surprising - thought they both made very different cases clearly - and v well chaired by @bbcnickrobinson ... also take your pick on interpreting this poll / either Corbyn didn’t get the clear win he needed, or overperformed on these numbers versus current polling etc.

More details - as with last time Johnson shaded on “who performed best overall” weighted to 2017 GE and 2016 ref numbers. But net scores on who individually did “well or badly” better for Corbyn... Johnson: +24 (62/38) Corbyn: +38 (69/31)

The Great Reform Act of 1832 was enacted because the British people, denied representation through a Democratic voting system, rioted. Not just in Bristol, but in all major cities. The elite wanted to head off a Revolution, and they did. Men got the vote.

#brexit seems to be all about feeling over fact and this is especially true of the ReesMogg ERG faction of the Tory right.
I never bought the line that #brexit is about Democracy because most of the Tory right had zero enthusiasm for improving democracy in the UK few of them care about unelected house of lords the unfair FPTP electoral system or transparency on the contrary
Most of the Tory right are interested only in constitutional changes that suit them and if anything strive to be as little democratically accountable as possible.

1/ Why is @UKLabour not opposing #Brexit when Tory Brexit is in tatters & 72% of the Labour supporters do oppose Brexit ? This is a very intriguing question & it feels counterintuitive, especially since most Labour MPs oppose Brexit too. But is it?
2/ Despite Labour party & and supporters opposing #Brexit, supporting it is the surest way to to winning the next general election. And this has nothing to do with wanting to attract Leave voters at all - nothing at all.
3/ There is only one Brexit scenario that will keep the @Conservatives in power: A hard #Brexit that at the same time is a success. And we know how likely that is. All other scenarios will almost automatically lead to a @UKLabour Govt.

1/ Very small thread on why many people (including me) have been getting #Brexit wrong. We've been blinded by the theatre & complex issues of the "EU negotiations" - but in fact its much simpler than that....indeed.....
2/ #Brexit "EU negotiations" are not in any significant way actually taking place, & to the extent that that they are at a minor level even these are largely irrelevant. Once I grasped this everything else of the last 12 months made sense.....
3/ The political establishment whether Corbyn's Labour or May's Conservatives (& indeed much of the political media) are, contrary to the breathless reporting of BBC etc, largely unconcerned with the concrete nature of the EU process (not negotiations) of #Brexit. For 2 reasons..
