White voters as a majority have not gone to Democrats in forever. Obama only got 39% in 2012, ditto Clinton in 2016. No matter who Dems put up, they'll lose the white majority vote. You just need to peel a few from Trump. He won by 78K votes in 3 Rust Belt States. That’s it. 2/
In other words, win over just 40K of those voters & Clinton would be President today despite the voter suppression, Russian interference, Comey’s press conference, “both sides” media narrative, Trump’s novelty & her own campaign mistakes. 3/
Even if Democrats nominate Biden/Buttigieg to the ticket and their entire campaign is “Make America Moderate Again” and they drink coffee in a Rust Belt diner for a year with ordinary white Rust Belt voters...they still won’t get the White majority vote. 4/
The Rust Belt, and this is going to be wild for some peers, also includes people of color and women. They also have “elegies.” They will also come out to vote. Also, third of black women are still undecided about their vote. Earn their vote, mobilize and energize them. 5/
Democrats can take the White House and the Senate and retain the House, but they have to get out the vote, bring their base and energize people. They always win when they are bold and inspiring. John Kerry, the “safe” choice...lost in 2004 despite Bush being terrible. 6/
America & the Republican Party, specifically, has underestimated & undermined women at their peril. They will be the force that helps take back power from a party that has become a vessel of corruption & authoritarianism. They haven’t forgotten. They won’t forget in 2020.
