@RoamResearch In a few conversations, I've heard people say something like "So, Evernote is great at what it does, but Roam does something different?"

No. Evernote is not great at what it does.

It fails horribly, because it starts with a broken paradigm.

@RoamResearch There are many aesthetic differences between tools, but probably every personal (or collaborative) knowledge management system you have seen before follows the same paradigm as Evernote.

When you break out of that paradigm, a whole new world opens up

@RoamResearch It didn't have to be this way. Even with pen and scraps of paper it is possible to build a way to organize your knowledge that can make intellectual and creative work far far more productive than the files and folders approach.

@RoamResearch Shockingly, for the past few years, the best tool around for organizing your ideas (if you know how to hack it), has been twitter
