Thread. As we approach end of year, we'll remember 2019, as year of plant based diet push, destined to embarrass science, & expose a dark agenda. January 2019: launch of EATLancet, a study funded by Wellcome Trust advocating move to plant based diets for human & planetary health.

Subsequently it was revealed 80% of the authors had a vegan or vegetarian bias, it's nutritional values widely condemned by nutritionists; and recently pointed out as unaffordable by over a billion people. medicalxpress.com/news/2019-11-h…

Wellcome had coincidentally become one biggest UK arable farmers 2014, & had decided on plant based push by 2016 -3 years prior to EL 'research'. Wellcome one of biggest funders of science health & environment, yet, also have £25bn investment fossil fuel & global corporate food.

The authors of EATLancet include Marco Springmann & Tara Garnett , of Food & Climate Research Network. They are vegans. Thus, have ideological/ethical bias. And, by reduction livestock to nutrition alone, have created false accountancy. Not considering co-produce for eg is flawed

Then another study. This time, by Helen Harwatt & William Ripple, both Loma LInda University connected academics. Loma Linda is an Adventist faith based university, vegetarian advocating. Again the study reduced livestock to nutrition alone; and improperly considered land use:

livestock actually cover a lot of land shared with biodiversity & even forest. Livestock range over large areas where crops cannot be gown. It is qualitatively different, that should be obvious but apparently not. So again uses generalized mathematical data to mislead

For ideological motivated science. Early Adventists included John Harvey Kellog, the breakfast cereal mogul. Motivation for cereals lay in early Adventist beliefs at suppressing masturbatory tendencies. And so the US prairie fell to cereal crops and that continues to wreak havoc

That brings us to question, why, with differences diverse cultural diets & resources, how & why it could even be considered to have universal global 'Public Health' diet?
