While we are on the subject of Mr. McGahn: Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson in Washington is expected to rule today in a lawsuit by House lawmakers that has sought to compel McGahn's testimony related to obstruction counts in Mueller probe. If lawmakers win today...

and if the judge says WH aides/staff are compelled to testify and obey Congress, the ruling would have major implications for any witness testimony moving forward in the impeachment process.

As far as impeachment goes, you may be wondering what the next steps are.

With lawmakers out for Thanksgiving recess, it is expected to be relatively quiet on Capitol Hill but here's what we can expect:

This week, the House Intelligence Committee will write its impeachment report, per Schiff. The committee is expected to submit those findings to the House Judiciary Committee by end of Thanksgiving break so Judic Comm. can hit the ground running when they return in early Dec.

Recall, the House Judiciary Committee is the party responsible for drafting articles of impeachment. After House Intel gives House Judiciary its report, HJC can then hold public hearings to debate articles.

What will be considered an article for impeachment?

Ukraine, undoubtedly, and matters on abuse of power. It's unclear if House Judiciary will go as far to break down that abuse into extortion or bribery.

The multiple instances of obstruction of justice laid out by former special counsel Robert Mueller could also be included.

Once the House Judic. Committee has its hearings, the committee will send articles of impeachment to the full House for a vote.

If the House approves the vote to impeach, then we're headed to the Senate.
House Dems are shooting for a vote by Christmas, with a Senate trial potentially kicking off in January 2020.
