ELECTION UPDATE

I’ve now received at least 5 reports from 3 constituencies that elderly voters being told by Conservative MP candidates that:

“Jeremy Corbyn will take your house away.”

Given that one of these is Ian Duncan-Smith’s seat I can only assume this is coordinated.
I’ve now reports from 4 constituencies on this.

If anyone has experience of an MP or Thore canvassing team using this with them feel free to contact/DM me. I’m happy to be as discrete as you want it to be.

Had a DM - “what can I do to canvass - im shy”.

1. Identify a few people to speak to socially - you don’t have to knock on doors.

2. Don’t try too hard to “convert” people - in many elections non-voters more important to result than switchers. It’s enough if Tories stay home.

Best chats to have are with smart Tories & Leavers - who don’t ageee at first with you.

They’re more likely to change. It takes more effort to convince someone who’s argument is not rational than one who is.

Don’t argue: empathy + facts more important - in that order.

Try always to understand why people voted Leave/Johnson - see the logic in it.

Don’t use “you” use “us” as in “im so upset Johnson lied to us” not “don’t you think Johnson lied to you”.

Health minister Matthew Hancock has been paid £thousands by a board member/Donor of the IEA “think tank” - who’s principle policy is the privatisation of the NHS - to avoid being paid directly by US lobby companies behind IEA.

The IEA refuses to disclose its donors..

Hancock you may recall was behind a crackdown on charities lobbying (ie for better health outcomes) even tho he was himself being paid by the commercial lobby behind IEA - these amounts came principally via Conservative party donor & IEA board member - Neil Record.

..Now we have IEA/Neil Record who want to muzzle charity lobbies from fighting for better health outcomes having funnelled money to current Health Minister Matthew Hancock..

#Breaking - Some defense sources report #Indian air strikes across the Line of Control in Muzafarabad, #Pakistan. Indian air force briefing expected later today. Pakistan said Indian jets dropped their payloads & "fled". More confirmation of details needed.
There are also reports of dual, air and ground Indian strikes in Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir. No official word yet. Waiting for updates. Stay tuned.
There are also reports that 2 Pakistani JF-17s fighter jets have been shot down.

Boris Johnson claims he didn't say anything about Turkey in the EU referendum campaign. Here's his joint letter with Michael Gove to Downing Street, seven days before the referendum.

He [Boris Johnson] said: "I am very pro-Turkish but what I certainly can't imagine is a situation in which 77million of my fellow Turks and those of Turkish origin can come here without any checks at all. That is mad - that won't work."
In fact - the former Turkish PM Binali Yıldırım - was even asked about Johnson's remarks shortly after the referendum, in July 2016.

"May God help him and reform him, and I hope he won't make any more mistakes and tries to make it up with the Turks."
